Ring

Our bed and breakfast accommodation is located close to Ring. This lovely, wild area on the western shores of Dungarvan Bay is the heart of An Gaeltacht - an area where the Irish language is the first language of the people. The area contains An Cuinigear, a long, pencil-slim peninsula in Dungarvan Bay which hosts a huge variety of seabirds.

Colaiste na Rinne, an Irish language college, attracts many students of the language for both summer and full term courses. Crafts in the area include fine cut crystal at Criostal na Rinne. Helvic is a tiny, but important fishing port and the nearby Ceann Heilbhic (Helvic Head) commands wonderful views over the bay and Waterford coastline, with the dramatic backdrop of the Comeragh Mountains.
