Cappoquin

Cappoquin is approximately 30 minutes drive from our bed and breakfast accommodation. Cappoquin is at the top of the tidal water of the River Blackwater and is a renowned angling centre for both game and coarse anglers. Cappoquin House & Gardens enjoy magnificent views over the river. The lovely Glenshelane River Walk runs close to the town, which is situated on the exciting and very scenic Lismore & The Vee Drive. The East Munster Way Walk can be accessed from Cappoquin via the Cistercian monastery at Mount Mellary.

Mount Mellary Abbey was founded in 1832. There are five Ogham Stones at the abbey from nearby Kilgrovan. Lismore Arts Centre is 3km from the town. Tourin House & Gardens is a few kms south of the town on the Gaeltacht & Galltacht Drive.
